The AMS Team
Cody Howdeshell
President
Cody began his seafaring career at 19 years old as a deckhand on New York harbor tugboats. As he worked his way up the hawsepipe, he sought to see more of the world and sailed aboard ocean going tugs. Over the years, he has worked on coastal and ocean tugs, dredge boats, crewboats, longliners, pearling boats and more.
In 2021, he saw a need for a more professional vessel delivery service and hung out his shingle as a delivery captain. Under the banner of Azimuth Maritime Solutions, he began delivering tugs, OSVs, and passenger vessels around the US, Caribbean, and South America.
As AMS has grown, he has moved into an executive role to oversee daily operations and management. He continues to play an active role in all AMS projects, regularly attending vessels and crawling through bilges when needed.
Adam Durrua
Delivery Superintendent
Adam graduated SUNY Maritime College in 2020 with an unlimited tonnage 3rd mates license. He started his career as a deckhand on dredge tugs where he met Cody.
While working together, Adam and Cody dreamed of delivering boats all over the world, this led to the development of a passion for international maritime deliveries and the foundation of AMS.
Since then, Adam has been sailing on his license aboard oil tankers. In recent years, he has been a part of 3 reflags of vessels coming into the US fleet. His latest reflag was that of an LNG carrier, which currently stands as the only US flagged LNG vessel. Adam has taken his various reflagging experiences to AMS, reflagging several vessels out of the US flag in preparation for respective international voyages.
Noah Layton
Delivery Superintendent
Bill Evon
Engineering Superintendent
Bill began his career in the trades at 18 when he received a diploma in Diesel Technology from Universal Technical Institute in 2017. Shortly thereafter, he began his journey into the Maritime industry by attending Maine Maritime Academy pursuing a degree and unlimited horsepower license in Marine engineering.
After two years, he decided to go back into the trades and worked for a yacht management company as a marine mechanic and then found himself working in Alaska as an unlicensed engineer upon commercial salmon boats. While the trades were good to him, it was time to complete his degree.
He received his Marine Engineering degree and unlimited horsepower license from Texas A&M Maritime Academy in 2023. After graduation he worked for a subcontractor as a marine engineer before shipping out on car carriers and oil tankers.
He now works alongside AMS as an engineering superintendent and operates his own company (Inland Solutions) specializing in Marine and Heavy equipment services.
