Meet the AMS Team

Cody Howdeshell
President

  • Cody began his seafaring career at 19 years old as a deckhand on New York harbor tugboats. As he worked his way up the hawsepipe, he sought to see more of the world and sailed aboard ocean going tugs. Over the years, he has worked on coastal and ocean tugs, dredge boats, crewboats, longliners, pearling boats and more.

In 2021, he saw a need for a more professional vessel delivery service and hung out his shingle as a delivery captain. Under the banner of Azimuth Maritime Solutions, he began delivering tugs, OSVs, and passenger vessels around the US, Caribbean, and South America.

As AMS has grown, he has moved into an executive role to oversee daily operations and management. He continues to play an active role in all AMS projects, regularly attending vessels and crawling through bilges when needed.

Adam Durrua
Delivery Superintendent

  • Adam graduated SUNY Maritime College in 2020 with an unlimited tonnage 3rd mates license. He started his career as a deckhand on dredge tugs where he met Cody.

While working together, Adam and Cody dreamed of delivering boats all over the world, this led to the development of a passion for international maritime deliveries and the foundation of AMS.

Since then, Adam has been sailing on his license aboard oil tankers. In recent years, he has been a part of 3 reflags of vessels coming into the US fleet. His latest reflag was that of an LNG carrier, which currently stands as the only US flagged LNG vessel. Adam has taken his various reflagging experiences to AMS, reflagging several vessels out of the US flag in preparation for respective international voyages.

Noah Layton
Delivery Superintendent

  • Noah grew up in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where his passion for the water budded early. His maritime experience began in the yachting industry in the waterways of South Florida, working his way up from deckhand to captain. His start with AMS came through a vessel delivery, where his work ethic and seamanship quickly integrated him into the team.

Delivering, managing, and overseeing refits of landing crafts in the Caribbean and on the Gulf Coast, Noah has a deep understanding of commercial vessel operations. His active involvement both on the ground and in the office reinforces the qualities that define his work at AMS today.

Now serving as Operations Manager, Noah's experience across the USA and Caribbean makes him an indispensable part of the AMS team.

Bill Evon
Engineering Superintendent

  • Bill began his career at 18 upon the completion of his diploma in Diesel Technology from Universal Technical Institute. Shortly thereafter, he ventured into the Maritime industry by pursuing a degree in Marine Engineering, Unlimited Horsepower License.

During a gap year, he worked for a yacht management company as a marine mechanic, then in Alaska as a deckineer on commercial salmon boats.

Upon graduation from the Texas A&M Maritime Academy, Bill shipped out as a marine engineer, working on car carriers and oil tankers.

He now works alongside AMS as an engineering superintendent and operates his own company (Inland Solutions) specializing in Marine and Heavy equipment services.
